  • How does the eduCAN distinguish different users/ stakeholders of the System?
    eduCAN comes with an inbuilt tool to manage different types of users of a System. It ships with few standard User Profiles like Student, Faculty/Instructor, Group Leader, Management and Administrator. Each profile is associated with permissions to use a specific set of features of the system.
    Every other user/stakeholder of the system is provided with unique login credentials to access eduCAN. Each such user is associated with at least one of the profiles of the System stated above.

    Yes. eduCAN is a flexible platform for managing learning activities, resources, curriculums, and courseware. The platform is designed in a modular fashion based on the features/modules offered by the System.
    However, based on the end-user requirement, custom modules can be developed to suit your needs and shall be integrated into the base platform. Because of the flexibility in the platform, any 3rd party components/systems like blogs, message boards, RSS feeds etc can be easily integrated into the system

  • What are the minimum end-user requirements to use eduCAN? What are the end-user operating systems supported by eduCAN? Are there any browser restrictions?
    eduCAN is a pure web based application and requires a latest web browser (Microsoft IE 6 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or higher) to view and use it. Any personal computer/notebook which runs on standard operating systems (Mac, Windows XP/Vista or standard Linux flavors).
  • What information does eduCAN require to support my university/school?
    eduCAN requires the following information as the base data for it to deliver all the rich features stated above.
    • List of all Users & their Profiles ( Students, Professors, Management, Administrators etc )
    • List of Departments, Department Heads & details
    • List of all Courses, Active courses for the current Term
    • List of Students registered to individual course, Teaching Staff handling the course etc

  • I already have an existing data with course, student information etc. Can I directly import the data into eduCAN?
    Yes. during the implementation cycle, base data from any existing data sources can be imported directly into our database.
  • Is there any privilege where I can manage courses, students, professors, notifications etc? Is there a privilege of System Administrator in eduCAN?
    Yes. System Administration Control Panel is provided to users belonging to SYSADMIN Profile. This Control Panel has all the options to maintain and administer the System without the need of a highly skilled individual
